About Liam
A geotechnical specialist with over 15 years of experience in complex earthworks and challenging civil engineering projects, Liam joined Pro Rail Services in 2023 as Geotechnical Manager, bringing with him a wealth of practical knowledge and technical expertise.
First entering the industry in 2008 as a contracts supervisor with a specialist piling and earthworks contractor, he spent eight years mastering the fundamentals of project delivery, rising to Operations Director in 2016. In this role for seven years, he successfully managed complex operations across a range of high-profile schemes including the Botley Landslip, Dover Sea Wall emergency works, and Wanborough Embankment stabilisation.
Since joining Pro Rail Services, Liam has successfully managed and directed some of our most complex geotechnical projects, proving instrumental in building positive client relationships and further cementing Pro Rail Services as the industry’s go-to specialist for challenging earthworks and retaining wall solutions.
Holder of a NEBOSH General Certificate (Units 1 and 2) and a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction, he’s also a full member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clients and other stakeholder (both internal and external) with specialist geotechnical advice in relation to buildability
- The delivery of complex earthworks projects including embedded and gravity retaining walls, complex scour protection works, enabling works and more
- Acting as estimator on all geotechnical projects
- Managing the company’s team of geotechnical operatives
