About Matt
A 35 year veteran of the UK’s construction, civils and railway sectors, Matt joined Pro Rail Services in 2021 as Commercial Director, taking overall responsibility for the company’s commercial operations, opportunities, and performance.
A versatile and professional leader with a proven track record in project delivery, problem solving and direction, in 1989 Matt started his career in commercial building, moving into large transport orientated civil engineering projects where he spent his time helping commercial managers resolve a range of complex financial and contractual issues.
Obtaining a 1st class honours degree in construction processes, in 2003 he made a sideways move into project management, gaining the skills and professional qualifications needed to move onto far more complex track and operational facilities projects within the rail sector.
Following an 8 year tenure as a project management consultant, he joined the UK’s largest privately owned drainage and facilities group, Lanes, as Commercial Director overseeing a 3x increase in the firm’s turnover and, in one year alone, securing TfL contracts worth in excess of £120m.
