Our Pladdet Suction Units (PSU) have been designed for a variety of applications, particularly those where it’s not possible to use a regular excavator. It can be used to move ballast, clean out catchpits, expose troughing routes and is especially useful when working around cables or pipes.

The attachment is controlled from the cab by the operator, thereby eliminating the need for non-essential personnel (e.g. to hold the suction pipe or to provide additional supervision). This reduces the risk of injury around the unit. When full, the 1,000 litre chamber reservoir can be emptied into an engineering train, ballast box, or skip.
