Geotechnical Division

We’ve been providing specialist geotechnical and drainage services within the railway sector since 2012, with our dedicated geotechnical teams approaching all projects on an individual basis, providing innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges.

Innovative solutions

We cover the whole of the UK’s and Irish Rail network from our seven offices located in Warrington, York, Welwyn Garden City, Horsham, Newport, Southampton, and Mayo (Ireland) allowing our teams to mobilise quickly and efficiently.

Our geotechnical division operates as a specialist geotechnical survey, design, and build contractor, offering design and build solutions delivered by our own in-house design and project delivery teams, making use of our substantial fleet of on-track plant and off-track capabilities.

Safe, compliant, and sustainable

Our geotechnical project delivery works are undertaken in compliance with Network Rail standards and procedures and in line with the relevant project specific deliverables detailed in the contract documentation.

Our CEM, CREs and construction management teams are all approved to complete and sign the appropriate certification to allow assets to be taken back into use and also for checking gauging and clearance issues associated with the safe passage of trains.

Working in honest collaboration with clients, we ensure maximum productivity during possession work, or employing systems of working that mean possessions are not required, is our main aim. From our wealth of project delivery experience, through to the teams on site, we retain a RIDDOR free statistic, achieving target cost, and with zero possession late handback.

Pro Rail Services has access to a large fleet of specialist geotechnical plant, supplemented by a wide range of bespoke plant and equipment that is compliant to Network Rail Plant Operating Scheme Rules. This allows us to arrive on site with the correct plant for the job, tested and ready to go at the start of possessions / blockades / off-track solutions as appropriate.

Pro Rail Services actively promotes sustainable technical solutions such as low carbon concrete for use within aggressive ground and other solutions such as geopolymer injection method via our supply chain Geobear.
